Padosan is a story of an innocent countryside Bhola (Sunil Dutt) who had a fight with his uncle (Om Prakash) and comes to stay with his aunt in the city. He falls heads over heels for his beautiful neighbour (padosan) Bindu (Saira Banu) who lives across from his aunt. She has a music teacher (Mehmood) who gives her dancing tuition and wants to get married to her. Bhola’s friend Guru (Kishore Kumar) helps him win Bindu’s love with the help of his singing. What follows is a hilarious riot of scenes that is to be seen to be believed.
